Science Center Pilke

Science Center Pilke

Science Center Pilke, located in Rovaniemi near Arktikum, leads you in the world of northern forests. Pilke is a great visiting spot for families with children, as its interactive exhibitions offer lots of things to try, experience and learn. The building where the science center is located, known as Pilke House, is an excellent example of Finnish architecture and skillful wood building.

Time flies when you are examining and experiencing the Pilke exhibition, so it is a good idea to book enough time, at least a few hours, for your visit at the center. The exhibition’s main subject are Finnish forests and the current topics and innovations of the forest industry. The exhibition has for example a working forest machine that you can try to steer, a bird song karaoke booth and a fun forest themed quiz. Pilke Shop sells all kinds of products inspired by Finnish forests that are great and original souvenirs to bring home.

Science Centre Pilke is open from Tuesday to Friday 9am to 6pm and on weekends from 10am to 4pm. Tickets cost 5-7 euros and for children under the age of 7 the entrance is free. Family and group tickets are also available.
