Husky Safaris at Pyhä and Luosto
Dog sledding is a unique experience during which you get to experience a traditional arctic mode of transport that is thousands of years old. In addition, you get to meet the brave and social sled dogs. Experienced guides teach you the ins and outs of driving the dog sled, and then it is your turn to take the reins and lead your pack of huskies through the beautiful forest and fell scenery. You can also just sit in the sled and enjoy the ride.
Huskies and Samoyeds are northern dog breeds and therefore natural sled dogs. Sled dogs need to be social, as they have to work together as a team when pulling the sled. These people-friendly and active dogs will definitely steal your heart!

Arctic Husky Farm
Arctic Husky Farm is a home to about 200 Alaskan Huskies and 10 Siberian Huskies. The farm offers day safaris that last for a few hours, and longer overnight safaris. After the safari, guests can get to know the Huskies a bit closer, take photos, and enjoy a nice hot beverage by the fireplace while the guides tell stories about the sled dogs and their everyday life at the ranch. In summer the farm organizes individual guided tours where you can meet the dogs. During winter the tours are arranged only after dog sled safaris.
Arctic Husky Farm is located about a 10-minute ride away from both Pyhä and Luosto. Some service providers of the Pyhä-Luosto area arrange snowmobile safaris and transportation by car to the farm.

Luminenä Husky and Samojedi Farm
Luminenä, located about one kilometer away from Pyhä’s center, is a family business that has operated for over 20 years. Luminenä organizes different, customizable dog sled safaris. On the farm you get to meet six fluffy Samoyeds and 12 Alaskan Huskies. The maximum number of sleds is two.
In addition to regular Husky safaris, Luminenä also offers special wellness-safaris which include a relaxing guided fireside meditation in the peaceful nature of Lapland. You can pick one of the ready-made safari packages, or plan the perfect safari experience just for you with the help of the farm guides. During the safari you hear interesting stories about the dogs and get to know them better.
